Sambiesta

SAMBIESTA is a home-grown percussion band with an Afro-Brazilian setup, commonly referred to as Samba. Incepted in 2007, the band specialises in fusing Afro-Brazilian percussion with modern funk and drum and bass.

While we stay native to our Samba percussion roots, we have also expanded our repertoire to include a mix of purely percussive pieces as well as popular songs which feature vocals, keyboards, and occasionally even an EDM spin board.

The band has performed in international samba festivals, local art and music festivals, corporate gigs, street-busking, and we even hold exclusive workshops. Globally, we have left our footprints in Spain, Los Angeles, Ireland, Liverpool and Germany.

SAMBIESTA’s latest achievement was clinching the Grand Prize (International Category) in Wonju Dynamic Dancing Carnival 2019, the largest parade-style competition and festival in the world. In 2018, SAMBIESTA also clinched the championship title in the Percumon 2018 Batucada Competition, which was held in Spain.
